RDA Gala Awards

The RDA Gala Awards recognise the exceptional achievements of RDA participants, volunteers, horses and ponies.  If you know someone who has gone over and above at RDA you can make a nomination.

The Award Categories

Horse and Pony of the Year Award

To recognise the contribution of our four legged volunteers, each year we recognise the RDA Horse or Pony of the Year.

Over 3000 horses and ponies give their time to RDA and every single one of them is remarkable for the difference they make. Anyone who has ever loved being around horses can name their favourite pony. But not all of us can say they have changed our life for the better. RDA horses and ponies do just that. Every single day.

RDA Participant Award

In order to recognise the outstanding achievements of RDA participants, each year RDA presents the RDA Participant Award.

There 28,000 RDA participants taking part in riding, carriage driving and vaulting and this award is all about celebrating the success of RDA participants.  For some this might be overcoming particular challenges or achieving goals they have set themselves.

RDA Volunteer of the Year Award

RDA would not be possible without time given by 18,000 volunteers.  In order to recognise this contribution of RDA Volunteers, each year RDA presents the RDA Volunteer of the Year Award

There will be an RDA Volunteer of the Year Award recipient for each RDA Region as well as a national Volunteer of the Year.

This award is a chance to recognise volunteers who have made an exceptional impact to RDA over the last year.  This might be an inspirational coach, an ever reliable volunteer going over and above to care for horses and ponies, a fundrasier who has exceeded their targets or a trustee who has provided exceptional leadership.

RDA Young Volunteer of the Year Award

RDA benefits from the support of a huge number of young volunteers.  In order to recognise the contribution of RDA volunteers under the age of 25, each year RDA resents the RDA young volunteer of the year award.

RDA is a fantastic way to learn new skills, meet new friends and make a difference all at the same time.  We know our young volunteers get a huge amount out of the experience of RDA volunteering, but RDA also gains a huge amount from the time they give.  This award recognises young volunteers who have had a successful year at RDA and have made an impact on their group.
