Coaching Conference Sunday 13th & Monday 14th October 2019

The first day of the Coaching Conference 2019 will be held at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth CV8 2LD. Registration will be from 11.45 in the Events Centre (please use the Events Centre car park). It will involve a presentation from RDA Honorary Vet, Nathalie Cole BSc (Hons) BVSc Cert AVP MRCVS, guiding us through advice, which will help you decide when to call in the professionals out to your horse. Nicky Fuller, a freelance trainer and consultant with RDA, BS and many other sporting bodies, will deliver a taster of the Advanced Coach module, ‘Coach the Coach’. Physiotherapists Louise Lees and Nona Dane will be taking us through early years development in physical disabilities and speech. Our after dinner speaker will be James Wiseman, one of the youngest Carriage Driving Coaches within RDA. He will tell us a little bit about his journey with Park Lane Stables and how it changed his life for the better.

Day two will bring candidates to the RDA National Training Centre, Old Warwick Road, Shrewley CV35 7AU. Katie Kershaw BVSc MRCVS, Regional Vet in the East, will help you with exercises for RDA horses, which will keep them fit for purpose. You might remember Russell Guire from Centaur Biomechanics, who was so inspiring last year, he has agreed to give a practical demonstration this year. Using his state of the art technology he will look at horses being lunged with training aids, and while they are being ridden both on the flat and over jumps with two of our independent RDA participants.

Do bring a blanket or a cushion with you for this part as the indoor arena gallery seating area can get quite chilly! We will serve coffee on arrival at 8.40 and during the break at 10.30. Lunch will also be provided before you depart at around 12.45.

We very much look forward to seeing you all!
