Equestrian Vaulting is gymnastics on the back of a moving horse and involves teamwork, fitness and fun!

Vaulting is perhaps best defined as gymnastics on horseback and is one of the 7 disciplines currently recognised by the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI). Competitive Vaulting is a youth sport, however at the Novice and Recreational levels it has much to offer to all ages and abilities.

The team can be six vaulters, a pair or individual, whom work with one horse under the control of a lunger or using a vaulting barrel.  Vaulting within RDA for participants to develop and build a wide range of skills which can be transferable throughout all areas of their lives; including learning to work as part of a team to achieve a goal, helping to boost their self-confidence and build on their interpersonal skills.

The physical benefits too can be extremely beneficial, such as helping with fitness, balance, motor skills, flexibility, co-ordination and core strength.

It is a hugely rewarding activity and groups who offer vaulting to their riders all give testament to the fun and sense of achievement that it brings.
